Taneisha Fifita has signed with the Central Pulse for next season.

Fifita, who returned to the Southern Steel this year, joins incumbent Pulse defenders Kelly Jackson and Parris Mason.

Originally from Oamaru, Fifita moved to Invercargill when she received her first contract with the Steel in 2020.

She spent two seasons stamping her mark on the goal keep bib before heading to Brisbane to complete an 18-month church mission last year.

Fifita, 23, who previously played for the New Zealand secondary schools team in 2018 and 2019, returned to the Steel this year.

Netball Central director of high performance Waimarama Taumaunu said they were delighted to welcome Fifita.

Her inclusion means Australian Kelea Iongi will not return to the Pulse next season.

Jackson, 27, has been a pillar at the back and was recently named in the Silver Ferns.

Defensive partner Mason, 21, also earned her maiden Silver Ferns contract and could be in line to make her debut next month.

Their inclusion rounds out another strong team for the Pulse, who were beaten finalists this season.

Shooters Tiana Metuarau, Amelia Walmsley, Khiarna Williams return alongside midcourters Maddy Gordon, Fa’amu Ioane and Whitney Souness.

Midcourter Ainsleyana Puleiata returns from injury in place of Parris Petera.
