Kane Williamson and Tom Blundell were named the players of the year - the publication’s top gong.
Editors Francis Payne and Ian Smith were impressed with Foxcroft’s tenacity.
The 25-year-old South African-born all-rounder missed the entire 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons due to Covid. He was stranded in the republic and unable to return due to New Zealand’s tough border restrictions.
But he had a "stellar season" upon his return and quickly made up for some lost time.
He swatted a competition-high 424 runs in the Super Smash, and was Otago’s leading scorer in the Plunket Shield with 631 runs. He was crowned New Zealand domestic cricketer of the year and the ICC cleared him to represent New Zealand under its exceptional circumstances criteria.
Foxcroft was called into the Black Caps in 2023 and made his debut for his adopted country in a T20 against the UAE in Dubai in August.
The following month he was selected in the one-day side for a match against Bangladesh.
Auckland wrist spinner Adi Ashok and Central Districts seamer Ray Toole were also named promising players.
Toole impressed in the Plunket Shield with 31 wickets at 22.95, including a career-best seven for 57 against Auckland.
Ashok shone when he got opportunities and "will likely play a much bigger role ... following the retirement of Will Somerville".
Williamson’s most notable achievements during the period came in white clothing. He posted 200 not out against Pakistan in Karachi in December.
His 132 against England at the Basin Reserve was instrumental in New Zealand’s historic one-run win and he finished the season with knocks of 121 not out and 215 against Sri Lanka.
Blundell had a tremendous summer for the Black Caps at test level as well.
He was named test player of the year for his haul of 419 runs at an average of 52.38. The gloveman also made 16 catches and effected five stumpings.
