Petrol payment forgotten

On Friday, April 12, at 3.46pm, Police spoke to the driver of a vehicle who ''drove off'' from the BP petrol station in Frankton Rd without paying for his petrol. Senior Constable Chris Blackford said the man ''forgot to pay'', but returned to settle his debt.

5.30pm: Police are investigating a complaint received from a Queenstown mother, alleging her 4-year-old daughter was bullied at the Remarkables Crescent playground. Snr Const Blackford said it was alleged two Maori boys, aged between 10 and 15, one with blond highlights in his hair, had pushed the child off a swing and thrown rocks at her.

 

Saturday, April 13

• 12.20am: A 32-year-old New Zealand man was charged with driving with a breath-alcohol level of 583mcg when stopped at a police checkpoint in Frankton Rd on Saturday. The man elected to have a blood test and police are awaiting the result.

• 2am: A 22-year-old woman reported to police the theft of her mobile telephone, camera and $50 in cash from her handbag which she had left behind at a private party at a Fernhill residence on Saturday.

2.15am: A 36-year-old New Zealand man living in Queenstown was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour after he allegedly argued with door staff after being refused entry to the Bunker, in Cow Lane, because of his level of intoxication.

4.45am: An intoxicated 21-year-old Queenstown man was found by police on Frankton Rd after he had wandered into a private property. The man was taken to the Queenstown police station to detoxify. He was later released.

 

Sunday, April 14

1am: Police received a complaint of wilful damage after the rear windscreen of a car, parked in Fry St, was smashed. Inquiries are continuing

• 2.30am: Two jackets, empty of items, were stolen from a bar on Queenstown Mall early on Sunday and found dumped on rubbish in Searle Lane. The police officer who found the coats was soon approached by a man who said one of the jackets was his. The other jacket was returned to Winnies in the hope the owner would recover it there.

Police were reviewing security footage for an individual carrying two jackets in the area. Acting Sergeant Phil Hamlin, of Queenstown, said on Sunday the theft was ''a timely reminder in winter everyone loads their jackets with expensive items, like a mobile phone, passport and money, then drapes their jacket over a chair and goes dancing for an hour. .. a lot of bars have coat checks and we think that's a great idea and encourage people to use them''.

12.30pm: A complaint was made to police by a pedestrian, claiming to have been struck by a vehicle as it turned from Rees St on to Church St. No injuries were reported. Inquiries are continuing.
