Saturday, February 2:
• A vehicle crash on Malaghans Rd on Saturday evening is being investigated. A car driven by a 19-year-old Invercargill male crossed the centre line, causing an oncoming car to drive into gravel, Sergeant Steve Watt said. The man said he had moved to avoid a cyclist.
• A 32-year-old Auckland man was given a pre-charge warning after taking a headrest from a Queenstown taxi. The man had been at a stag party and on the way home had taped the camera inside the taxi and taken the headrest to a Frankton address.
Sunday, February 3:
• A 44-year-old man is likely to face charges after a collision with an oncoming vehicle on the Glenorchy-Paradise road. An Invercargill couple sustained minor injuries in the crash which happened at 4.40pm.
• A 55-year-old Chinese man was found drenched in the rain on Sunday night by police after his family sent out a worried call about his whereabouts. The man started his walk on the Frankton Track at 8pm and had underestimated the time it would take, Sgt Watt said.
Monday, February 4:
• At 5pm on Monday, a Sainsbury Rd resident informed Queenstown police two youths had been looking inside locked cars on the road. Senior Constable Chris Blackford said the resident had supplied a photograph and police were investigating and looking to identify the two males.
• Police are seeking a man who was seen to take a bag of produce from Queenstown's Fresh Choice and leave without paying. The man had been caught on CCTV footage and is believed to have left in a red car about 9.40am.
