Police recovered stolen goods worth thousands of dollars after searching North Otago properties on Wednesday.
Oamaru police, aided by the Dunedin Armed Offenders Squad, executed two search warrants in Hampden and one in Waianakarua.
Stolen property was recovered from the Waianakarua address and one of the Hampden properties.
Detective Sergeant Dan Keno, of Oamaru, said items recovered included five firearms, a 1000-litre fuel container, a high-speed electric fuel pump, a ride-on lawn mower and a range of other farm-related property.
A 43-year-old Hampden man appeared in Dunedin District Court yesterday on two charges each of receiving stolen goods and burglary. He was remanded until December 15.
A 37-year-old Waianakarua man will appear in the Timaru District Court on December 22, facing two charges each of burglary and receiving stolen goods, along with one charge each of theft and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police would like to hear from people living in rural North Otago who believe they might have had items taken from their properties.
