The responsibility for paying for the clearing of a rubbish bin at Kaikorai Estuary needs clarification before it gets installed, Saddle Hill Community Board chairman Scott Weatherall says.
Mr Weatherall, reporting to board members on Thursday, said it paid more than $1000 for a rubbish bin to be installed but that had been delayed until there was an agreement on who paid the $660 annual clearing costs.
He wanted the Dunedin City Council to pay.
''Contractors drive past three times a week, surely they have the ability.''
At the estuary, the council recently installed a dispenser for bags with which to collect dog faeces.
