The organisers of Dunedin’s annual Circulation Festival are working in partnership with Te Whare o Rukutia theatre space to present Star Dust, an original circus cabaret featuring nationally and internationally touring artists.
For three nights, from September 8 to 10, Te Whare o Rukutia will play host to a constellation of aerialists, acrobats, death-defying stunts, talented musicians, and performance artists.
Star Dust is filled with professional circus artists who began their journey at Circulation, returning to Otepoti and joining local artists to celebrate more than a decade of their festival community.
Circulation will host its 14th festival in October at Whare Flat, near Dunedin.
Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust director Gareth McMillan said the venue was delighted to host Star Dust this month.
"There’s a growing community of cabaret performers in the city, and it’s awesome to see the rich fusion of their mahi with magic from other centres."
Star Dust runs from next Thursday to Saturday, September 10, from 7.30pm, at Te Whare o Rukutia, 20 Princes St. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets available at rukutia.nz/events.
