In a statement, club president Margaret Cameron said rockers from Christchurch and Invercargill joined local dancers competing in a wide range of categories.
This year, the oldest competitor on the floor was aged in their mid-70s and the youngest competitor was 5 years old.
The competition dancing involved couples dancing to two songs, a slow one and a fast one, she said.
The participants’ routines were assessed by qualified judges under guidelines from the New Zealand Amateur Rock’n’Roll Association.
The Dunedin Rock’n’Roll Revival Club was a very active group, with weekly dance lessons and club nights as well as monthly dances.
The group also participated in various community events, she said. —APL
