The Southern Steel has unveiled a new look for its third season in the ANZ Championship.
Its powder blue outfits will be on show for the first time at the pre-season tournament in Queenstown this weekend.
Chief executive Julie Paterson said the uniform was an "evolution" of previous uniforms.
"Like any new brand, there is a trial element in the early stages.
"For example, we found the grey last year, while it looked dynamic in person, failed to make an impact on television," Paterson said.
"We're pleased to now cement a colour scheme that we feel fittingly represents the Steel."
Steel vice-captain Wendy Frew (nee Telfer) said the players were excited about the new playing strip.
"As an athlete, there's a lot of pride that comes from pulling on a uniform whether you're representing your club, your region, or your country," she said.
"The new Steel look is fresh, modern and we are all stoked with it.
"I can't wait to put it to the test this weekend."
The Steel will host its annual pre-season tournament, with games scheduled tomorrow and over the weekend at the Queenstown Events Centre.
The Steel is joined by the Queensland Firebirds, the Northern Mystics, the Central Pulse, the Canterbury Tactix and the Australian Institute of Sport.
