Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit is locked in for another season with the Southern Steel — although for one day she will wear yellow and black.

The 29-year-old defender has been chosen as one of two All Star players to play for the Manchester Thunder in the British Fast5 Netball All Star Championship.

Held at London’s Copper Box Arena, the tournament features eight of the teams from Great Britain’s Super League netball competition.

It will be played over five hours on October 14 New Zealand time.Teams are required to have eight players from their squads of last season,  and can add two All Stars from around the world.

Selby-Rickit is joined by fellow New Zealander Anna Thompson in the Thunder line-up.

Coach Karen Greig said in a press release that the experience of the duo would be key.

"I’m really excited to have both Anna and Te Huinga in our Fast5 squad.

"They both bring great experience to our line-up where between them they have won six gold and a silver at international Fast5 for New Zealand.

"I can’t wait to have them in our training environment and get the ball rolling.

"Shooting is a critical element of this version of the game and Anna, being a long-bomb specialist and plays a bit of basketball, she certainly has it in her locker.

"Te Huinga is an imposing defender and is sure to bolster our defensive unit and look to disrupt the opposition and being strong on rebounds."

Selby-Rickit has previously played for New Zealand at the Fast5 world series in 2012, when the team won the gold medal.

Other All Stars to be announced for the event include Australian Sharni Layton and former Silver Fern Cathrine Tuivaiti.
