Final to go ahead but Steel game off

The ANZ Premiership final will go ahead.

However, the Southern Steel will not get its last competition game.

Netball New Zealand confirmed Invercargill will host the Central Pulse and Mainland Tactix in the grand final at 6.45pm on Sunday.

The other playoff games have been cancelled.

Both the Northern Mystics and Northern Stars are based in Auckland, so are unable to travel under Covid-19 Alert Level 3 rules.

It was also decided the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic would not travel south to play its bottom-placed playoff with the Steel.

However, NNZ said it was working with the Steel to secure a curtain-raiser for the final.

Both games will be played in an empty Stadium Southland and tickets will be refunded.
