Various offences over the weekend

On Friday, May 10, a Queenstown couple told police their son's expensive green MGP scooter was taken from a bike rack at Remarkables Primary School.

• 10.30am: Police were advised the word ''Rowdy'' had been tagged on a private residence at 28 Park St.

• 9.50pm: A 61-year-old Queenstown man driving on Kawarau Rd elected to have a blood sample taken after allegedly recording an excess breath-alcohol level. Police are awaiting the result.

Saturday, May 11

• The behaviour of a 24-year-old Roxburgh man driving on State Highway 6 at the Devil's Staircase near Kingston came to the attention of police, Senior Constable Chris Blackford, of Queenstown, said. The man had allegedly consumed alcohol in breach of his bail conditions and was arrested.

• 4am: A 27-year-old French national living in Queenstown was stopped by police for allegedly speeding on Fernhill Rd.

Police are awaiting the result of a blood test.

• 1.36pm: A 22-year-old Frenchwoman was found by police at the Queenstown waterfront with a small amount of cannabis. The woman was given a pre-charge warning.

• 4.30pm: A young person went for a swim in Queenstown Bay. Concerns for his welfare, particularly the risk of hypothermia, resulted in a St John Queenstown ambulance being called. The person had to be restrained by three police officers after he allegedly assaulted the two ambulance officers. The person was referred to Youth Aid.

Sunday, May 12

• 1.50am: A man allegedly punched another man four times to the head then ran away in Queenstown Mall. The victim suffered a lump and grazes to the back of his head. The alleged offender argued with Winnies bar staff and was ejected before the incident. There was security camera footage of the area and inquiries were continuing, Snr Const Blackford said.

• 4.30am: A man in his 20s allegedly punched the menu board of Fergburger, smashing the glass. He walked off towards lower Shotover St where he took his shirt off and performed a haka, before heading towards Hay St. Inquiries are continuing.

• 9.30am: It was reported that letterboxes were knocked off posts at five properties on Robins Rd. Inquiries are continuing.

• 1pm: Two trampers on the Routeburn Track were reported overdue and unaccounted for, however there were no concerns for their safety, Snr Const Blackford said.

• 5.35pm: A 37-year-old Queenstown man was charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level of 722mcg after he was stopped by police. The man was expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court on May 20.
