Troubles on the road and elsewhere

On Friday, April 19, at 12.15pm,: An Australian man was treated for a broken collarbone and suspected back injuries in the Lakes District Hospital, after he failed to negotiate a corner and went over his mountain bike's handlebars on the downhill track from Skyline Gondola.

The man was taken to hospital by St John ambulance.

• 12.15pm: A heavy goods vehicle clipped two parked cars and broke the wing mirrors in Robins Rd. Police left notes on the windscreens. Inquiries are continuing.

• 4pm: Police were advised a motorist drove away from the Caltex service station without paying for fuel and groceries valued at $71.30. Inquiries are continuing.

• 4pm: A 15-year-old boy was referred to Youth Aid for his alleged part in damaging property at O'Connell's car park.

Saturday, April 20

• 8.57am: A 19-year-old Englishman was removed from a property at the Queenstown camping ground by police.

• 9am: The Jacks Point depot of Delta had to be broken into when the keyholder could not be contacted after fire alarms were activated. The cause of the fire was likely a blown fuse.

• 10.20am: A 22-year-old New Zealand woman and a 26-year-old man were arrested after allegedly breaching their bail conditions.

• 11.48pm: A 32-year-old New Zealand man was arrested after allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Sunday, April 21

• 1.05am: A 21-year-old Queenstown man was treated for a black eye, bruising and swelling after an altercation outside SkyCity Casino, in Beach St. Police were reviewing security camera footage and appealed for witnesses to contact the Queenstown police station.

• 2.10am: A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour after he allegedly refused to leave a bar. The man was also charged with possession of cannabis.

• 2.20am: A 37-year-old Australian tourist was arrested in relation to disorderly behaviour in the Boiler Room bar.

• 2.20am: A 23-year-old Middle Eastern man was charged with driving with a breath-alcohol level of 611mcg in Beach St.- Source: Queenstown police
