Charity organisation Women in Touch is hosting the Orphans Aid International Quiz Night again this year and is aiming to match or beat last year's total of $1500.
The annual fundraiser for the Queenstown charity returns to St Margaret's Church Hall, on Ross St, in Frankton, on Wednesday, August 25.
Doors open at 7pm and the questions start at 7.30pm.
Entry costs $40 for a team of four, or $10 a person, and includes supper.
Interested parties should register by calling Judy Williamson on 021 106-4503 or (03) 441-8173.
Orphans Aid International raises funds for orphans and street children in India, Romania, Russia and Nepal.
• There are only three Fridays remaining of free meals at the pasta cafe, in St Andrew's Church, on Stanley St.
The annual parish initiative began on July 23.
Mrs Williamson said a slow night averaged about 150 diners, but there were about 220 through the doors last Friday.
The cafe could cater for up to 400 people and all were welcome, Mrs Williamson said.
