Inquiries continue on a number of crimes

At 8.30am on Sunday, tagging was reported at 44 McMillan Rd. Senior Constable Chris Blackford said it was the same style of tagging as some at a nearby playground. Inquiries are continuing.

• At 4.26am on Sunday, an Australian man was allegedly assaulted outside Fergburger. Snr Const Blackford said the man was "punched to the ground and taken by ambulance to Lakes District Hospital for treatment". He received a cut lip. Snr Const Blackford said the man did not want to make a complaint or identify the alleged offender.

Inquiries are continuing.

• A 34-year-old Spanish man allegedly consumed produce items in the Shotover St Night 'n Day at 4.30am on Monday and refused to pay for them. Police were called to the incident and the man was "very aggressive and hostile and had to be restrained", Snr Const Blackford said. The man will appear in court on August 27 charged with disorderly behaviour.

• A 20-year-old Australian man allegedly threw the contents of a bag of ice on the floor of the Camp St Night 'n Day, and ran away at 2.25am on Tuesday. Snr Const Blackford said the man was "grossly intoxicated" and was taken to the Queenstown police cells to sober up. He was given a pre-charge warning.

• At 4.34am on Tuesday, a red and white Repco brand mountain bike was stolen from outside the Shotover St Night 'n Day. Snr Const Blackford said the bike was not secured.

• At 6am on Tuesday, an "extremely intoxicated" New Zealand man was found in a garden in Church St by a cleaner. He was taken to the police cells to sober up and released without charge.
