Gibbston will be celebrating on Monday night during a special event to mark its recent success in the 2011 New Zealander of the Year Awards.
Gibbston was named 2011 Community of the Year for its outstanding community development achievements - most recently opening the $1.4 million Gibbston River Trail, which stretches 8.5km alongside the Kawarau River and took six years to complete.
The community party will be held on Monday at Waitiri Creek Wines from 6pm.
Gibbston Valley cheeses and salads, wood-fired pizzas from Waitiri Creek Wines, and dessert from the Winehouse and Kitchen would be on the menu, and musical entertainment will be provided by Ian Lightfoot.
