Fair promises fun day for all

Queenstown Primary School's biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual school fair, will be held this Saturday and organisers are promising fun for all ages.

Last year, the fair raised about $30,000 for the school. One of the organisers, Sue Moore, said the funds had been invaluable and she hoped to get as much support again on Saturday.

The money raised comes from profits made in either donations to the school or purchases throughout the day.

This year, the fair will have a carnival theme and prizes will be given to the best-dressed child, adult and stallholder.

Throughout the day there will be activities for locals, children and visitors. Events and activities include a chocolate wheel, a bouncy castle, pony rides, Harley-Davidson rides, raffles, a silent auction, books, clothes, baking and more.

This year, the school will host a hangi for lunch.

The fair runs from 10am to 2pm at the school on Robins Rd. Admission is free.
