It was a quiet weekend for Queenstown police with only a handful of incidents starting at 7pm on Friday, when a 17-year-old Queenstown youth was charged with stealing a jacket from the Boiler Room bar.
A local man was charged with shoplifting at the Fresh Choice supermarket at 7.20pm, after he allegedly attempted to leave with about $50 worth of meat in his pockets.
At 1.15am on Saturday, a 26-year-old man was charged with disorderly behaviour on the corner of Beach and Rees Sts, and another Queenstown man (20) was charged with offensive behaviour after he allegedly urinated in Cow Lane at 1.34am.
At 1.50am, a 19-year-old man was charged with breach of the liquor ban after being seen drinking twice, then "attempting to hide the bottle behind his back" when approached by police, Acting Sgt Haggart said.
In the only offence of its type this weekend, a 32-year-old man was charged with drink-driving when he allegedly gave an evidential breath-alcohol reading of 611mcg when stopped on Hensman Rd at 4am.
At 10.30am on Saturday, an Australian man (23) was given a warning and banned from Coronet Peak for two years after using a lift pass bought from someone else.
An Irish man (23) was yesterday charged with offensive behaviour after allegedly urinating in the entrance to O'Connell's Mall at 12.12am.
At 2.10am, an Invercargill man (30) was charged with disorderly behaviour on Rees St after he allegedly abused police.
