4.20pm: Passengers in a vehicle travelling on the Arrowtown-Lake Hayes road were treated for minor injuries at Lakes District Hospital after being ''rear-ended'' by another vehicle. Senior Constable Chris Blackford said the crash occurred at the Arrowtown end of the road. Inquiries are continuing.
4.45pm: The owners of a property in Robins Rd reported wilful damage to the police after discovering holes in the walls and blood on the sheets of their property after the guests left. Snr Const Blackford said inquiries were continuing.
10.40pm: A 29-year-old Irish man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon after an incident on December 27. Snr Const Blackford said the man had been at the Boiler Room last week when he was refused entry to the bar. He allegedly threw a rope stand at the bouncer before punching him in the head. The man, who is due to appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday, was identified through CCTV footage.

1.30am: Inquiries are continuing after an alleged theft from the Night 'n Day in Camp St. Snr Const Blackford said two males went to the counter of the store and attempted to buy cigarettes while a third ''stuffed his pockets with chocolate bars''.
2am: A 24-year-old Auckland man was issued a pre-charge warning for offensive behaviour after urinating in Shotover St.
3am: Police were called to attend a noise complaint, along with Queenstown Lakes District Council officers, at the Alta Apartments in Thompson St. No further details were available.
Queenstown Lakes District Council gardeners work in the Queenstown Gardens on the morning of New Year's Eve to repair the vandalism inflicted on flower beds the previous night. About 300 flowers in a pair of beds, plus several rose bushes and rocks, near the band rotunda, were pulled out of the ground and thrown around the park.
The incident was reported to police by a member of the public on New Year's Eve at 8.30am. Gardener Steph Jacobs said the damage must have been caused between 11pm and 7am. ''It's pretty needless.'' REPORT: JAMES BEECH

As rain continued, the day for many in Queenstown was spent, in part, waiting in long traffic queues.
