They executed a search warrant at a Tweed St, Oamaru, address and uncovered stolen items worth thousands of dollars, including knives, petrol containers, a car, dozens of keys and several camouflage jackets.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, said officers arrested a 45-year-old Oamaru man and charged him with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and a historic burglary in Greta St, Oamaru.
He was due to appear in the Oamaru District Court today.
Also on Monday a 47-year-old Oamaru man handed himself into police.
He was wanted for breaching two protection orders.
Inquiries were ongoing.
A 33-year-old Oamaru man was also arrested and charged with obstructing Kingslea St.
Sgt Woodbridge said police accompanied Waitaki District Council staff to the South Hill area address after the man allegedly left a load of rubbish items in the road.
The man was charged with obstructing a public way and was due to appear in Oamaru District Court today.
