A surfboard and a kitten were found in two cars which collided at the intersection of Wharfe and Wansbeck Sts in Oamaru about 7pm yesterday.
The kitten, Ember, pictured (inset) being comforted by passerby Alice Newberry, was in the Will Cypha (left) and the surfboard was in the Mazda Familia.
Constable Jay Morriss, of Oamaru, said the cause of the crash was yet to be established. The three local people in the Mazda were treated at the scene by St John for minor injuries.
