Dinner nets $12,000

About $12,000 was raised for a new co-response vehicle for the Omarama community at a fund-raising dinner featuring All Black great Sir Brian Lochore on Saturday night.

The small community has raised about $100,000.

It has ordered a new Nissan four-wheel-drive and a defibrillator.

They will be used by the Omarama Fire Brigade's co-response unit of five ambulance-trained officers to attend accidents and medical emergencies in the area.
