Parties involved in a fight against a controversial plan to build a wastewater treatment plant at Clyde will come before Environment Court Judge Jon Jackson in Alexandra this month.
A pre-hearing conference for the issue will take place on Friday in the Alexandra District Court.
The Central Otago District Council's plan to construct and operate a treatment plant near Muttontown Rd at Clyde has drawn opposition from nearby landowners and residents.
In early 2008, the CODC applied for, and was granted, re-designation of a 5.4ha Clyde property for the treatment plant after its previous land designation lapsed in 1998.
However, by then, zoning for some land nearby had changed, allowing small lifestyle blocks to be developed in the area.
George and Nickie Gallagher, who own Claudleigh Estate Ltd, a vineyard on Muttontown Rd beside the site, appealed the re-designation to the Environment Court.
Opposing submissions on the proposed plant were lodged by 29 other parties, while one was lodged in support and two were neutral.
The pre-hearing conference will allow all parties involved to indicate what their arguments are, what they require from a hearing in terms of time for representatives to speak, and where the hearing should take place.
Two other pre-hearing conferences are scheduled to be undertaken in the Alexandra District Court on April 17.
Cornish Point Development Ltd and the CODC are involved in a dispute over a consent decision regarding a proposed subdivision of land above Cornish Point Rd at Cromwell.
The council is also involved in a dispute with the St Bathans Heritage and Environment Preservation Trust about a consent decision regarding the construction of two dwellings and associated buildings in St Bathans.
