Central Stories Museum in Alexandra was packed with people and stalls as it hosted the annual artisans market last weekend.

Central Stories Museum operations manager Paula Stephenson said that this year saw the most stalls in the three years the market has run.

There were 24 stalls selling baked goods, prints, wooden art and wine and spirits, everything being from Central Otago vendors.

Omeo Vineyard owner Bruce Shaw said that having a stall at the market was pretty good.

This was also his third year hosting a stall which offered tastings and sold wine from his vineyard in the Earnscleugh Valley.

The museum was buzzing with chatter and Christmas music as people browsed the goods on display.

For the children there was a treasure hunt, craft activities and of course, the opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa in his grotto.

As well as browsing the stalls or take part in the treasure hunt, visitors were able to try their hand at quoits — a game where where players try to throw a ring around a spike.

For a dollar visitors could take part and attempt to win a prize, with proceeds going back the museum.
