Alexandra’s Christmas Trail is open again, this time at Jolendale Park.
The 1.3km trail through the semi-arid woodlands was created by Christine and Nevelle Ridd and features cutouts and 90 painted rocks of well-known characters such as Bluey, the Lorax and Kermit the Frog, as well as traditional Christmas scenes and, of course, Santa.
The Ridds created their first Christmas trail, across the road, in 2022 and have continued the tradition each year.
Mrs Ridd said there had been a constant stream of visitors and the trail had been receiving positive feedback from community groups.
Trail helper Ken Churchill said he could tell it had been well visited as the tracks had been well walked.
Setting up the trail took more than three months of work as paths had to be made and debris cleared.
Mrs Ridd hand-painted all of the cutouts and rocks and still had thousands of ideas when it came to adding more.
There was something for all ages on the trees and the rocks lining the trail, she said.
Mr Churchill said he was pleased to help out with the trail and to give back to the community.
"It’s free for families to enjoy," he said.
The trail, at the corner of Aronui and Schaumann Rds, Bridge Hill, is free for all to wander and will be open until New Year’s Eve.
