Runner-up was 71-year old Glenys Anderson, of Alexandra.
Mrs Jolly was representing the Alexandra Croquet Club and Mrs Anderson was representing the Alexandra Dunstan Lions Club.
Both women said they were thrilled and a little shocked to be announced queen and runner-up.
Both thought they were "definitely" not going to win.
Mrs Jolly said one of her hobbies was collecting royal memorabilia-themed china, "but I never thought I could be a royal".
She received her crown from friend, fellow croquet club member and 2011 senior queen Ainslie McCristell.
There were three other women in the running for the crown, former Otago Daily Times and Central Otago News journalist Dianne King; Kay Adam and Edith Staples.
The contestants were paraded around a crowded room on the arm of Trevor Mills at the Alexandra District Club.
They enjoyed entertainment by Ruth Reid School of Music pupils.
