Cromwell's newest early childhood care centre, designed to cater for up to 50 children, is expected to open on January 5 next year.
Little Wonders, which is being built opposite the Barry Ave entrance to McNulty Rd, is nearing completion.
Construction started on July 21.
Operations manager Ben Hurst said it was progressing well.
"We are expecting the building to be finished mid to late November.
"Due to the difficulty employing staff over the Christmas holiday period, we decided to open for business in the new year," he said.
A team of staff for the facility should be confirmed in October, he said.
Little Wonders has almost filled its roll for next year, with 32 early enrolments confirmed so far.
Mr Hurst said the company chose Cromwell for one of its new centres because demand for such a facility in the town was growing.
Based in Auckland, Little Wonders is also opening new centres in Dunedin and Oamaru.
Its Cromwell centre will be the first Little Wonders in Central Otago.
