A Central Otago festival promising food and wine enthusiasts a weekend of discovery will be back in the new year.

The Roam Central festival will showcase the region’s scenery and wineries in February.

Each event in the festival will provide a unique perspective on Central Otago’s wine scene, with wineries from around the district working to create them.

Welcome dinners will be held on Saturday, February 15, at the Bannockburn Hotel and the Carrick Winery and Restaurant.

On Sunday the gates of Amisfield Estate will be open, giving visitors an inside look into a working vineyard and winery.

To celebrate the end of the festival on Sunday, a finale dinner will be held at Cloudy Bay winery, which will give visitors the opportunity to meet winemakers from across Central Otago.

Roam Central was first held last year and brings together local wineries, chefs and artisans from across Central Otago.

Next year’s event was awarded $6000 in the first round of funding from the government’s new Regional Events Promotion Fund in August.

Tickets are available at roamcentral.co.nz.
