Delays completing two bus shelters in Broad Bay have left locals without anything to sit on. So an anonymous local has installed a set of school chairs to help commuters rest their posteriors.

Dunedin City Council group manager transport Jeanine Benson confirmed the bus shelters in Broad Bay were not yet finished.

The seats in the shelters at present were not installed by the council and appeared to be informal.

"We will soon be consulting over plans to add murals to the shelters, and formal seating is expected to be installed once the murals are completed," she said. In the meantime, locals would be able to feel nostalgic remembering old school days as they wait for their bus.
