The armed offenders squad (AOS) was this afternoon called to the south Wellington suburb of Newtown after a firearm was allegedly brandished during a domestic dispute.
The AOS was called to the incident in a block of flats in Owen Street about 12.45pm after other residents of the building reported seeing a man with a firearm, a police spokesman said.
No shots were fired and police were speaking to a man in relation to the incident, he said.
