A woman threatened police officers in Levin with an axe this morning, sparking an AOS call-out.
The incident began unfolding shortly after 7am when police received a complaint that a woman had threatened another person with a hammer at a Burns St address.
Police found her at a Goldsmith Cres address where she was arrested, but she ran inside the house locking the doors behind her.
She then presented herself at the window with an axe threatening to hit the first officer that came through her door.
The house was cordoned off by police and the AOS called.
After attempts to get the woman to leave the address failed, AOS members entered the house and took her into custody without incident.
No-one was injured.
The 35-year-old Levin woman will be appearing in the Levin District Court next week on several weapon and assault related charges.
