A Dunedin woman has volunteered to organise the free computer recycling event, eDay, in Dunedin, saving the city from missing out on the opportunity.
The national electronic waste (e-waste) recycling event, to be held on November 6, enables households and small businesses to dispose of old computer equipment in an environmentally sound way.
This year, the event was in doubt in Dunedin because of the short time-frame and stretched resources, but Dell McLeod responded to a call to help, partly because she hated society's consumerism.
She had organised a warehouse in Turakina Rd, South Dunedin, for the event and was looking for volunteers to help on the day and with the co-ordination.
