Mosgiel Taieri Community Board community engagement officer Regan Horrell said an inspection by the Dunedin City Council revealed the sub-frame of the ramps was dangerously rotten and irreparable.
The council determined it to be an immediate danger to users and closed the facility, he said.
No decision had been made on whether the ramps should be repaired or replaced.
