Knifeman in robbery at Mosgiel pub

Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of a Mosgiel pub.

Detective Sergeant Dave Nelson, of the Dunedin CIB, said a manager of Crofter's Pub And Liquor Centre in Gordon Rd was putting out rubbish about 10.30pm last night and was confronted by a man with a knife and demanded money.

The man, who had his face covered, stole $13,000 and dropped ''a large amount'' after leaving the pub.

The dropped money had been recovered.

The man was described as a Maori, solid build, about 1.8m tall with his face covered.

Police inquiries were continuing, he said.
