Yankee Dream is hard to go past in the Winter Cup Prelude at Richmond Park today.

Yankee Dream ran second to Lancome in the race for 4yr-old mares at the Harness Jewels meeting at Ashburton last Saturday.

She has won 10 races, including a mile in 1.54.9 at Ashburton in February.

She has won three races this season since joining the West Melton stable of Cran Dalgety. Her transfer from Robert Dunn followed her purchase by Solid Gold Standardbreds Ltd from Ian Dobson.

Jazmin Robyn, a rival for Yankee Dream, won the race last year when trained by David and Catherine Butt.

She has changed stables since she last raced on April 5. She is now trained by Stephen McNally at Motukarara and has been performing well at trials and workouts.

Dexter Dunn, the driver of Yankee Dream, has a good book of drives at Alexandra Park tonight.

They include last-start winners Yankeedoosie (race 1) and McKay (race 9).

Yankeedoosie, a 3yr-old sister to I Can Doosit (Interdominion Trotters' Final) and Sno's Big Boy (12 wins), is trained by Mark Purdon and Grant Payne.

Purdon is at Melton tonight to drive Pocaro in a $20,000 free-for-all. His stable also has Lets Get Serious in the race with Greg Sugars the driver.

Trainer Paul Kerr will take the reins on Alta Audacious in race 10 at the Nelson meeting.

Alta Audacious has had a win at Oamaru and a second at Forbury Park in two starts back from a break.

Trojan, trained by Geoff and Judy Knight at Roxburgh, is a rival for McKay tonight. He is in the care of Dave and Clare McGowan at Pukekohe.

"We had to send him up there to get mobile starts so he would be off level marks," Knight said.

"Depending on how he goes, he may stay up there for the winter." Trojan (seven wins) has had two starts back from an enforced lay-off through injury and started from 40m each time.

Ryan Hayter, the junior driver, is now training in partnership with Tom Kilkelly at Tisbury.
