Quality Invasion (race 6) has won his last two starts from 20m handicaps at Ashburton and Addington. He is off 30m tonight. He has won eight races from 26 starts this season.
• Scotlynn Jiggs, the 2yr-old having his first start, led throughout and won by five lengths at Forbury Park last night.
He is trained by Dean Taylor and raced by Lesley Taylor, wife of the trainer. Lesley bred Scotlynn Jiggs. He is by Mach Three and the first foal of Scotlynn Jane, who won three races and $66,000 in stakes.
Scotlynn Jane won a heat of the Sires' Stakes for 2yr-old fillies at Forbury Park in 2006 and finished second to One Dream in the Caduceus Classic. Mrs Taylor has a yearling brother to Scotlynn Jiggs and she has Scotlynn Jane in foal to Real Desire.
Scotlynn Jiggs, who qualified at Motukarara a month ago, will now be spelled.
Captain Peacock and River Black, the well-performed pacers, have resumed work with Taylor.
• Trainer Peter Scaife said he would wait and see how Mister Dann came through his win last night before confirming a start at Oamaru on Sunday. Zac Butcher drove Mister Dann last night. Scott Stewart has been engaged at Oamaru. He is a junior driver with the Burnham stable of Mark Jones. His parents, Wayne and Connie Stewart, of Masterton, are in the ownership of Mister Dann with brothers Murray and Robin Moon, of Tauranga, and Gerald Cayford, of Dunedin.
Scaife also won last night with Miracle Mach, who came from back in the field at the 700m. He had faded to sixth on June 14 when left in front.
Miracle Mach has won five races since being bought by Gavin Watson, of Palmerston North, in November and transferred to Scaife. Miracle Mach had won twice for Greg and Nina Hope.
Eastwood Pharaoh was claimed for $10,000 by Bev Williamson and has joined the Roxburgh stable of Geoff and Jude Knight.
• Eddie Boy was declared unruly for mobile starts after his enormous effort for second to Tisbury Terror last night. He tangled at the start from barrier one and settled 10 lengths from Tisbury Terror who made the pace. He surged home wide out to finish a length from the winner.
