Tropical Punch, who has been placed in much stronger fields, could break through for a win in a rating 85 1400m at Oamaru today.

Tropical Punch has finished third in the Easter Cup (1600m) and Great Easter Handicap (1400m) at Riccarton at her last two starts.

The Faltaat mare began racing with a win at Wingatui in September and she has only raced six times.

Matthew Cameron and Lisa Allpress, who are level at the top of the New Zealand jockeys' premiership with 148 wins, continue their rivalry today.

Cameron rode Global Partner and Champagne Eva to win at Oamaru on June 22.

He has the mount on Global Partner in race 7 today.

He also rides stablemate Chief's Daughter (race 6), whom he rode to win at Washdyke on June 15.

Both horses are trained by Jon Sargent, the leading trainer this season with 103 wins.

The Sargent-trained Pauanui, a rival for Chief's Daughter and a last-start winner at Washdyke, is the mount of Allpress.
