Tozzie, now trained by Greg and Nina Hope at Woodend Beach, is set to resume racing after a two-year break at Addington tomorrow night.

The rising 10yr-old won seven races, including five at Addington, when trained by Patrick O'Reilly.

Brownie, a stablemate of Tozzie and winner at Addington yesterday, is a rival tomorrow night.

Waitati, winner of the race for 2yr-olds at Addington yesterday, is owned and trained by Colin and Julie De Filippi. They bought the Courage Under Fire-Stephanie colt in April after he had a trial from the stable of Mark Jones. De Filippi was the regular driver of Courage Under Fire, who won his first 24 races, including six Derbies.

Waitati was bred by Waikouaiti trainer Bruce Negus. He is the first foal of the unraced Stephanie (Holmes Hanover-Running Smooth).

How Do Mate, winner of the 3yr-old race at Rangiora on Sunday, will now spell.

"He will spell for three months. He needs more time," Philip Vermeulen, his Rangiora trainer, said.

• How Do Mate has won four of his eight starts. The Bettor's Delight-Putting On The Glitz gelding is raced by Christchurch breeder John Purvis and his son, Matt, who works for Leeston trainer Paul Nairn.

The unraced Putting On The Glitz (by Walton Hanover) is also the dam of Secret Potion, winner of 10 races including the 2010 Great Northern Oaks and Sires' Stakes Final for 3yr-old fillies.

Vermeulen has Life And Soul about six weeks away from racing. Life And Soul, winner of the Timaru Cup in November, has not raced since January.

• Ray Reekie trained and drove his own horse Franco Nartiscape to win the race for amateur drivers yesterday. He had the gloss taken off the occasion when fined $100 for not notifying gear for Franco Nartiscape and a similar amount in regard to Franco Radial.

Franco Nartiscape had not raced for six months. He returned to Reekie after a stint with Robert Dunn.

• Franco Jamar resumes at Addington tomorrow night after a break of three months. He is in a 1950m (mobile). He won over that distance in a 1.57.2 mile rate in February.
