River Of Riches emerged as a smart 3yr-old with a dashing maiden win at Invercargill on Saturday.
River Of Riches, who had finished third at Winton in his other start three weeks earlier, is trained at Wingatui by Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman.
He is raced by Jane Davidson, a sub-editor at the Otago Daily Times with Wendy Muldrew, Anderson's partner.
Davidson attended the 2010 Karaka yearlng sales and paid $6000 for River Of Riches at the Festival session. She planned to on-sell River Of Riches as a 2yr-old at the South Island sale but bidding stopped at $8000. The reserve was $15,000. She then took Muldrew in partnership.
Davidson was in a syndicate who raced The General, a hurdles winner at Oamaru in 1998.
She bred Wholly Faith, who won six races when leased out.
