Russley Rascal is outstanding among a fine book of Harness Jewels drives at Cambridge tomorrow for Blair Orange, the most successful reinsman in the three years the series has been staged.

Orange drove GTH Aveross to win the opening race of the inaugural series at Ashburton in 2007. He also won the 2yr-old colts and geldings section that year with Ohoka Arizona. He partnered Fiery Falcon (3yo) and Highview Tommy (2yo) to win at Cambridge the following year and Joyfuljoy (3yo filly) at Ashburton last year.

Russley Rascal is among his five drives tomorrow. The others are Highview Ebony, Lancome, Le Sol and Highview Tommy.

Orange has driven Russley Rascal in six of his nine wins, including the Great Northern Derby from 13 starts this season. The Mach Three gelding began racing in in October and he has not finished further back than fifth.

Orange drove Lancome to win the $175,000 Yearling Sales Pace for 3yr-old fillies at Addington in February. She is unbeaten in two starts at Cambridge, including a heat of the Sires' Stakes when De Lovely finished second. De Lovely is favourite for the 3yr-old fillies section tomorrow.

All the drives for Orange are for his employers Mark Purdon and Grant Payne, who have 17 horses engaged in the Harness Jewels. They are the most successful stable in the series with five wins. Purdon also trained two winners in a sole capacity in 2007.

"All members of our team are well," Payne said. "We had blood tests from them early in the week."

He rates Major Mark and Russley Rascal as the best prospects.

"Major Mark and Russley Rascal look top chances from their draws," Payne said.

Both have drawn one.

The 2yr-old Major Mark has won six of his nine starts.
