Hot Shot Lavros has not raced since November 11 when he finished second to stablemate Alberto Contador. The 3yr-old ran second to Chancellor Cullen in a Sires' Stakes heat at Addington in October.
• Riversdale owners Charlie and Ailsa Smaill continued their run of success when Jess Jaccka and Jaccka Luke won at Invercargill yesterday.
Jess Jaccka, who won a maiden trot in her first race for six months, is a sister to Jaccka Jack and Jaccka Justy.
She is trained by Murray Gray,who has won 11 races for the Smaills with Jaccka Jack. Jaccka Justy has won five.
He is trained by Charlie Smaill and won easily at Winton last Saturday.
Jaccka Luke, who won a maiden event for pacers, is trained by Brett Gray, a son of Murray. Jaccka Luke (by McArdle) is the fourth winner left by Lady Jaccka, a Caprock mare.
• I Can Doosit has a handy draw and an unbeaten record at Cambridge to back his claim in the $40,000 Trotters' Mile there tomorrow night.
I Can Doosit, last-start winner of the Lyell Creek Stakes at Alexandra Park, won a Harness Jewels race at Cambridge as a 4yr-old last year. He has drawn four.
Stylish Monarch, winner of the race last year and Sovereignty, the winner in 2008 could make their presence felt.
Sovereignty has a wide draw to overcome.
• Yankee Dream is ideally placed to win a mile for fillies and mares at Cambridge.
The Cran Dalgety-trained Yankee Dream is the best-performed horse in the field with 11 wins, including a mile in 1.54.9 at Ashburton in February.
