Franco Nullabour, an impressive winner at Omakau on Monday at his first start, should give a repeat performance at the Wyndham Harness Racing Club meeting at Cromwell tomorrow.
Franco Nullabour is opposed by his stablemate New Revenue in race 4. Craig Thornley, who drove both horses to win at Omakau, is behind Franco Nullabour tomorrow. Robin Swain is the driver for New Revenue.
Trainer Nigel McGrath has a strong hand with Anvils Top Gun and Beaudiene Christian in the Cromwell Cup. Beaudiene Christian won the race last year from a 10m handicap. He finished third to Hands Christian and Malak Uswaad in the Geraldine Cup two starts back.
Anvils Top Gun ran fourth in the Gore Cup on December 26.
He was a winner at Addington last month.
Stirling Point, a Cromwell Cup candidate, is back in the Winton stable of Allan Beck. Stirling Point, who ran fourth in the Franklin Cup on November 25, won four races from eight starts when trained by Barry Purdon.
Stirling Point won three from the Beck stable before transferring to Clevedon in May.
False Promise, who unleashed a brilliant finish to win the Roxburgh Cup on Thursday, has gone back 10m.
Glencoe VC, the winner of five of his seven starts, was freshened after his last-start win at Wyndham on November 13.
He ran third in a workout won by Jumpforjoy at Wyndham on December 23 in an eight-horse field. "He may just need a race," Brendon McLellan, his trainer, said.
Supreme Gem, from the Mark Jones stable, has been racing well enough to feature in the finish. She ran second to San Rafaella in the Equine Stakes at Winton at her last start.
Double El (race 8), the beaten favourite at Omakau when he tangled during the running, will wear shorter hopples tomorrow.
Trainer Robbie Holmes has also altered the shoeing on the 4yr-old.
