Trainor began race driving four and a-half months ago. He is employed by Cran Dalgety, the trainer of Lillybrook.
Trainor was born and raised in Dunedin. His father, Daryl, is an owner-trainer at Forbury Park and a member of the committee of the club. His grandfather, Bruce Trainor, is vice-president of the Forbury Park Trotting Club.
Lillybrook is raced by Ray and Diana Kennedy, who operate Jubilee Park Stud at Cambridge.
Lillybrook, a 3yr-old filly by Falcon Seelster from Birchbrook, was a $9000 purchase at the 2010 premier yearling sale.
The Dalgety stable also won at Forbury Park last night with Bettors Creek and Wotavugot. The pair were driven by Mark Jones, who also drove Alex and Lake Hood Lass to win.
Lake Hood Lass emulated her dam, Money For Laughs, when she won a maiden trot. Money For Laughs, a Sundon mare, had her only win at Forbury Park in 2004 when owned, trained and driven by Mick Prendergast.
Lake Hood Lass, the only offspring of her dam, is owned and trained by her Ashburton breeder, Alex Millar. He won six races a decade ago with the pacer Barter System.
Alex collected a $3500 Harness Plus for his Queensland owner Greg Brodie with his win last night. The 3yr-old is trained by Jones.
• Jessica Young drove her first winner for three seasons when she combined with Tallulah Belle last night. Young was having only her sixth drive this season as she has been studying pharmacy at Otago University.
• Cutie Patootie had her second win in four starts since joining the North Taieri stable of Craig Buchan. The 5yr-old is now racing in the ownership of Buchan's daughter, Melanie, and her husband, John, of Dunedin. They had not previously raced a horse.
• Jason Collett, the leading apprentice, has been ruled out riding for the next three weeks after a race fall at Tauranga yesterday.
Collett sustained concussion and he was in Tauranga Hospital last night for observation. A new rider will be required for Appiel, a form runner in the feature race for mares and fillies at Te Rapa today.
Collett has ridden 44 winners this season.
