Numero De Lago, a last-start winner over hurdles, will revert to flat racing over 2100m at Ashburton with Allpress the rider. She rode Numero De Lago to win his previous start on the flat at Washdyke.
The Encosta De Lago gelding was bought two years ago as a 4yr-old by Bob and Diana Goodeve, of Waimate.
Numero De Lago had won at Washdyke as a 3yr-old when trained by Mark Walker.
Mr Goodeve has been racing horses for 30 years. He won with his first venture, Silver Road, trained by Les Tree and ridden by Jimmy Moffat, at Wingatui in 1982.
The Goodeves won 12 races with Petrify. The Depot gelding was originally trained by Graeme Jackson and later Betty Jackson and Stephanie Clark.
Petrify won the 1997 North Canterbury Cup. He was ridden by Clark in his first six wins.
She is now Stephanie Payne and the starter for Canterbury clubs.
Never Plead Guilty won the 2009 Dunedin Cup and five other races for the Goodeves when trained by Paul Richards.
Star Son, who was sold to Hong Kong three years ago, is now in the stable of Lisa O'Shea at Cambridge. Star Son won four races including the 2009 Winter Cup Trial at Ashburton when trained there by Alex Cowan. The Seasoned Star gelding, who is rising seven, had 13 starts in Hong Kong for two third placings.
• King Montrose is among the team being prepared at Riccarton by Neill Ridley, who is back training in his own right after 18 months as foreman for the Rangiora stable of Jason Bridgman.
King Montrose, the winner of seven races, was originally trained by Ridley, a part-owner.
The gelding was then transferred to the Bridgman stable.
King Montrose has not raced since November when he was inconvenienced by a slippery track in the Coupland's Mile.
King Montrose won fresh up over 1000m at Riccarton in September.
