Lisa Allpress drew level with Matthew Cameron at the top of the National Jockeys' Premiership after a win from two rides at Ashburton yesterday.

Allpress and Cameron have both ridden 147 winners this season, which ends at Oamaru on July 30.

Allpress, Cameron and other North Island jockeys were late arriving at Ashburton due to air-travel disruptions caused by fog in Auckland. Rory Hutchings did not attend the meeting.

Allpress is riding at Awapuni and Cameron at Te Awamutu today.

Allpress won a maiden 1600m on Hydrogen yesterday.

Hydrogen was among three wins for trainer Jon Sargent. He is assured of his first trainers' premiership with 102 wins this season, a lead of 22 over Kevin Myers. Sargent is six wins away from the record tally of 108 wins set by Mark Walker in the 2009-10 season.

Hydrogen is a 3yr-old by Brilliance from Glowing Satin and thus a half-brother to Alagant Satin, whose five wins included the 2008 Eulogy Stakes. He was bred by Kevin White, of Omakau, and Anne Corcoran, who operates the Grangewilliam Stud at Wanganui.

Hydrogen was sold for $30,000 at the 2010 select yearling sale at Karaka.

An earlier Hydrogen won 26 races in Australia. The son of Delville Wood won the 1951 VRC Derby and Cox Plate in 1952 and 1953.

Cameron missed the ride of All About Alf, a winner yesterday. His replacement was Wingatui apprentice Salem Yusof, who has ridden All About Alf to win his last three starts.

Yusof was suspended from July 14 to 27 inclusive for careless riding on Zoe Brook (race 6).

Zoe Brook shifted out abruptly near the 200m and checked Savannah Al Jamal.

Sargent also won with So Regal and Pinzee (Winter Cup Trial). The win guaranteed Pinzee a start in the Winter Cup.

Sargent also has Cool Cruising entered for the $100,000 Winter Cup (1600m) at Riccarton on August 4.
