The Dunstan Arm rowers have been named in the New Zealand team to compete at the world under-23 championships in Poland on July 23-27.
King and Pearson, who also rows for the University of Otago, were selected for the men’s double scull.
They had a standout national championships in Twizel last month.
Notably, King won gold in the men’s senior coxless quad sculls, silver in the men’s under-22 single, and bronze in the men’s premier coxless quad sculls racing for Avon.
Pearson won silver in the men’s premier coxless quad sculls and finished fourth in both the men’s premier double sculls and men’s under-22 single sculls.
Dunstan coach Simon Smith is thrilled at their selection.

"Just over the moon for the boys. Super proud of them."
Pearson was named in the world championship team last year and competed alongside Dunstan rower Angus Kenny in Canada.
But it will be King’s first time representing New Zealand.
After a rib injury kept King out of the boat for seven weeks during the season, his international call-up was "phenomenal" and a "testament to the hard work he’s put in and the character of the man", Smith said.
Former University of Otago rowers Cody Johnson and Fred Vavasour, now rowing for Avon and Wairau respectively, have also been named in the men’s sweep squad.
Oliver Welch (Avon), subject to the outcome of the trial, and Henry Kirk (Wairau) were also named in the sweep squad, with the crew to be determined in June.
Charlize Tutbury (Waikato) and Mackenzie Tuffin (Star) were selected for the women’s under-23 double scull, and Oscar Ruston (Waikato) was selected for the men’s under-23 single scull, subject to the outcome of the trial.
