
Wānaka swimmer Hana Carnie has been in blistering form and broke another Otago record in the female 13 years 200m backstroke.
She set the record in the heats and then lowered it again in the final on her way to winning gold in 2min 20.66sec.
Carnie was also crowned the female 13 years 100m backstroke champion with a personal-best time of 1min 5.66sec, claimed silver in the 400m individual medley in 5min 21.25sec, and was part of two Wānaka relay teams that made the podium.
She joined Lara Bradford, Sophia McClintock and Stella Harper to gain silver in the female 13-14 years 50m medley relay with a personal-best 2min 6.58sec and bronze in the 50m freestyle relay in a personal-best 1min 53.92sec.
McClintock also won gold in the female 13 years 50m butterfly in 30.55sec and claimed bronze in the 100m freestyle in a personal-best 1min 2.19sec.
Neptune swimmer Lily McGrath also left her mark in the pool in the female 15 years 50m breaststroke.
She equalled the Otago record of 34.45sec set by Anna Wilson in 1993, and later secured the record all to herself when she swam 34.02sec in the final to win gold.
She also secured silver in the 200m breaststroke in a personal-best 2min 46.61sec.
After already breaking the Otago male 16 years 100m butterfly record earlier in the week, Neo Salomonsson was back with more records.
The Kiwi swimmer set a record in the male 16 years 50m butterfly heats with 25.28sec and lowered that again on his way to gold in 25.04sec.
Annalise Miller (Neptune) won the female 13 years 100m freestyle in a personal-best 1min 1.89sec, and claimed silver in the 400m freestyle with a personal-best 4min 42.67.
Luisa Palmer (Wānaka) gained silver in the female 15 years 50m butterfly in 29.15sec and bronze in the 100m freestyle in a personal-best 59.63sec.
Bella McEntyre (Taieri) secured silver in the 15 years 400m freestyle in a personal-best 4 min 37.37sec.
Charlotte Aburn (Neptune) secured silver in the female 16 years 400m freestyle in 4min 36.18sec and bronze in the 100m in a personal-best 59.79sec.
Swimmers were back in action yesterday and will wrap up the championships today.
