The Southern Blast will get the chance to play after all.
After initially being cancelled for the year, the Beko League will take place in a modified format starting on August 29.
The league, which acts as a development league for the ANZ Premiership, will be played over three consecutive weekends in Auckland, Wellington and Te Aroha.
All six teams will play five matches each, the winner being the team at the top of the table at the end.
Netball New Zealand head of events and international Kate Agnew said it was exciting to get the league going.
"Thanks to the support of Sport New Zealand we are able to offer a modified version of the Beko Netball League," she said in a release.
"It’s really exciting to be able to get our developing athletes an opportunity to compete this season after all of the hard work they put into their pre-season."
It would be an important pathway for players and would be particularly significant looking ahead to the selection of the New Zealand under-21 squad, she said.
This year is the fifth year of the league.
The Blast won the inaugural season and it has been won by Central Manawa since.
A draw will be released soon.
