Otago women's selectors have named two schoolgirl golfers in the five-strong women's team to compete in the national interprovincial at the Nelson golf course on October 7 to 11.
Monica Tulisi (St Hildas Collegiate) and Sharni Arona (Wakatipu College) are Year 13 pupils and will play at No 1 and No 5 respectively.
Tulisi made her debut at No 2 for Otago in last year's tournament in Napier, emerging with the successful record of four wins and one half from six matches.
The Otago team failed to win a point in Napier and Tulisi scored 4.5 of the team's seven game tally.
The former Canterbury golfer will face a tough task stepping up to No 1 and will be competing against the best players in New Zealand.
Arona plays on the Arrowtown course and has gained much experience during the past two years.
St Hildas Collegiate has a key role to play in this year's tournament with the School's Head of Physical Education, Kathryn Fletcher, playing at No 3.
Fletcher made her debut for Otago last year but has previous interprovincial experience for Tasman.
She is familiar with the Nelson golf course which will help Otago's cause at this year's tournament.
At No 4, Julie Cooper (Otago) is a newcomer, having previously played mainly club golf.
Liz McRae (Wanaka) has a wealth of experience playing for Otago for more than a decade, and will play at No 2.
Former Cromwell College pupil Alex Crook will be the travelling reserve.

Having regained her amateur status, Kathryn Knight will play at No 1, while Kyla Welsh will be at No 2.
Former Otago golfer Amber Boyce will be at No 3.
