Gent said the media reports were news to her.
"We haven't heard anything about that," she said.
"I know it was on the news today, but that's the first I've heard of it."
A Radio Sport report, also posted on its website, said the New Zealand Open was "likely" to be held at The Hills course in December and that an announcement from New Zealand Golf was expected to be made within a fortnight.
Gent said the club's annual Cure Kids Open would still be going ahead in the last weekend of November and the club was looking to grow that event.
Otherwise, she said, they did not know what would happen with the New Zealand Open.
"Not at this stage, no, but we are looking at what our options will be because, as everybody knows, we haven't heard from New Zealand Golf."
New Zealand Golf chief executive Dean Murphy could not be contacted for comment.
